Q: How do I access my website?
A: Sign in from the main page (Website Login) using the username and password provided for you in the initial email,  click here to access the login page
 
Q: How do I access my email?
A: Sign up for your free email account here (you will be sent an email with your email username and password within 3 business days), and then sign in at the main page (Email Login).
 
Q: How do I access the messageboard?
A: If you are a PublishAmerica Author use your PublishAmerica.com message board username and password. Others may request a messageboard account by clicking here.
 
Q: How do I edit my webpage?
A: Unless you are HTML savvy, please use the built in Internet Explorer WYSIWYG (WhatYouSeeIsWhatYouGet) Editor to make your additions or changes. The editor for each page can be accessed when you log in to your webpage.

The built-in WYSIWYG web editor enables you to design your web pages with a wide range of elements including images, links, dividers, fonts, and tables. Depending on the features your administrator has set up, you may also be able to insert a guestbook, counter, and a link to your calendar. You can also access the help manual at any time by clicking on the question mark icon at the top of the page.

Q: I am an AOL user and I keep getting a Security Violation when I try to access my website! Help!
A: Due to a problem with the way AOL interacts with our software, you may have been unable to log in to edit your site. If you were getting a "Security Violation". Please try logging in again, the problem has been corrected on our end and should work now.

Q: My username and password still aren't working for editing my site.
A: Please make sure when you type in your username, you are typing it in where it says "Edit Your Website" and it does not have any spaces. Ex. Steve L. Lombardi would log in as SteveLLombardi

Q: My username and password do not work for email.
A: Are you using all lower case for your username? Did you activate your account? Only those that have requested to have their accounts activated can access email. Your username and password for your website will not work for email unless you have activated your email account first. You can do so by clicking here. We will get back to you in up to three business days. Make sure to enter your current valid email address.

Q: I made changes to my site! I know I did! I clicked the save button in the top left hand corner of the editor and the changes are not there!
A: Chances are you need to refresh the page you are looking at. You should be able to do this by clicking the refresh button, or pressing the Ctrl and F5 buttons together while viewing the page. When all else fails try rebooting.

Q: How do I add my picture in?
A: Okay, this one is a bit trickier. If you are having trouble you may want to print this page out first.

  1. Once you have logged in click on the Internet Explorer WYSIWYG button, to enter the editor, across from the Bio.html page.
  2. After you have entered the page, highlight the text that says (space for photo here).
  3. Click on the Image button, upload your picture by clicking the browse button and finding your picture on your computer.
  4. Once you have found your picture, click upload.
  5. Your image will now appear under where it says "Your Images"
  6. Click on the blue link which is the name of the image you would like to add.
  7. Pictures are limited to the following file types: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, tif and tiff. You are allowed 2 pictures and currently up to 1 MB (1000K) of space on your site. If you require more, please send an email to techsupport@publishedauthors.net.

Quick tutorial on how to edit your pages:

When you enter your site there are 4 columns. On the far left are the names of your pages, on the far right is the action column.
Click on the Blue E which is the IE WYSIWYG editor in the action column, across from bio.html (Your biography page). That should get you in to the editor. It works like a basic word processor, click wherever you want to enter data and start typing! Don't forget to save.
Pages you might want to fill out:
Your Bio page (bio.html)
News (news.html)
Events (event.html)
Articles/Reviews (ar.html)

I can't see the blue WYSIWYG Internet Explorer Icon:

In order to edit your pages with the editor you must be using Microsoft's Internet Explorer 6, on a Windows based computer. The editor has not been tested with any other browser or operating system. It also does not work on the Mac operating system.

How to add a second book:

Assuming you understand the basics above for editing your site here is how to add another book. Go to your index page which contains your first book. Highlight (select) and copy the first pre-made section including the title of your book, cover, and book text. Click on an empty space below your first book and paste in the copy. You may then edit the title, and the book text. Upload a copy of you books cover, and replace the image that is there. If your book has already gone to print you can alternatively simply edit the existing image information with updated ISBN number.
